The
AFTER:WORK
Story

In the UK alone, over 1,500 tonnes of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) gets thrown out each year. To give you an idea of just how much that is, it’s about the weight of 950 average-sized cars.

The worst part? Approximately 90% of it ends up incinerated or piled into landfills.

London College of Fashion graduate Johnson Wong found out about this fact, and he got to thinking: what if that discarded clothing could be given a second life?

With a bold vision, a pair of scissors, and some sleepless nights at the sewing machine, Wong had his first upcycled pieces.

And in 2016, AFTER:WORK was born.

Since then, production has expanded, and the label now works with local social enterprises like Heba Women’s Project and Making For Change to empower women throughout the manufacturing process.

Every piece is thoughtfully designed to make the most of the materials. And every piece is handmade to be functional, durable, and long-lasting.

AFTER:WORK’s goal is to reduce the amount of wasted PPE that ends up in landfill. And to do it by creating unique, unisex gear that looks cool and lights up the streets.

That’s the AFTER:WORK story so far. But we have big dreams — and as far as we’re concerned, it’s only just begun.
